When Miriam was 12, she was sexually assaulted by her uncle.
When she told her parents about it, her father and the village chief did not believe her and said she was pretending.
Miriam was thrown out of home but she found refuge in a
World Vision rescue centre.
Supported by World Vision child sponsors, she studies hard in school and hopes to set up her own human rights advocacy organisation one day.
