Reporting improper conduct (whistleblowing)

World Vision Australia is committed to the highest standards of legal, ethical and moral behaviour. A key part to upholding our ethical standards is enabling people to speak up about unethical or unlawful conduct. This includes conduct that is:

  • illegal, dishonest, fraudulent or corrupt;
  • negligent, a default, a breach of trust or breach of duty;
  • unethical;
  • a significant or considerable misuse or mismanagement of World Vision Australia’s resources;
  • potentially damaging to World Vision Australia or our personnel, such as unsafe work practices;
  • may cause financial loss to World Vision Australia or damage our reputation or be otherwise detrimental to our interests;
  • a breach of relevant legislation; or
  • serious misconduct or impropriety of any other kind.

At World Vision we take any improper conduct very seriously and it is very important that all our donors, suppliers, partners and staff feel that they can safely report any such misconduct without fear of repercussions. For more information please refer to the Protected Disclosure Policy.

 

Reporting to World Vision

To be considered a 'protected disclosure' under law, your misconduct report must be reported to any eligible recipient. Within World Vision, these eligible recipients are:

  • Your Call: an independent and external service authorised to receive whistleblowing reports in relation to World Vision Australia
  • Head of Risk at World Vision Australia
  • Chair of the Board of World Vision Australia
  • Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee on the Board of World Vision Australia
  • Any member of World Vision Australia's Board of Directors
  • World Vision Australia's Company Secretary
  • Any member of the Executive Leadership Team at World Vision Australia

 

Reporting to Your Call

Your Call is an independent and external service authorised to receive whistleblowing reports in relation to World Vision Australia.

  •  All reports received by Your Call are reported to World Vision Australia's Head of Risk. If the allegation pertains to the Head of Risk, then they're reported to the Chief Financial Officer, in accordance with Policy.
  • Your Call enables reports to be made anonymously and confidentially.

  • Report online through the Your Call report centre

  • If you are deaf, or have a hearing or speech impairment, you can contact Your Call online or through the National Relay Service. Simply choose your contact method and request Your Call’s hotline: 1300 790 228
  • If you have difficulty speaking or understanding English, contact Your Call through the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) 131 450 and ask for Your Call on 1300 790 228
