World Vision CMO Teresa Sperti named in Top 50
Friday, October 19, 2018
World Vision’s Chief Marketing Data and Product Officer, Teresa Sperti, has been named number 16 in CMO magazine’s top 50 most innovative marketing executives. Ms Sperti said she was honoured to be included on the list.
“The individuals in the top 50 are the best of the best,” Ms Sperti said. “To be stand in their company is such a privilege.”
Now in its fourth year, this annual list recognises those leading the marketing function who are demonstrating innovative, strategic thinking, driving business change and commercial success, showcasing modern marketing leadership and enabling greater collaboration and better customer engagement as a result. The objective is to shine a spotlight on the increased importance of Australian marketing leaders in business.
Ms Sperti said she hopes her inclusion marks a shift in how the humanitarian and wider charity sector is seen in the marketing world.
“Charity is overlooked as a sector – there’s a myth that it doesn’t attract real talent, when in fact it’s one of the most competitive sectors in Australia,” Ms Sperti said. “International aid is not the glamour child of the charity sector but World Vision and other agencies are connecting to new generations who care profoundly about global issues. We need great marketers to tell stories that matter and to solve the world’s problems. Our recent 1000 Girls campaign demonstrates the marketing talent at World Vision.”
Ms Sperti’s vision is to build on World Vision’s 60-year heritage and partner with both individuals, and purpose-driven corporates and philanthropists, to realise their ambitions in making the world a better place.
“As marketers, we create mechanisms that are catalysts for people to rally around and live out their passion to end injustice and inequality,” Ms Sperti said. “Aid and development has made huge inroads into reducing global poverty – our job is to facilitate inventive and exciting ways for donors and supporters to build on the great work done by previous generations.”
This year’s list was revealed as part of a CMO event in Sydney yesterday and is available online and in CMO’s latest print issue soon.
