Tim Costello pays tribute to visionary humanitarian Malcolm Fraser

World Vision Australia chief executive Tim Costello has expressed his deep sorrow at the passing of former Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser.

“Malcolm Fraser was a visionary politician, a genuine internationalist, and an instinctive humanitarian.  He was a great friend of Australia’s aid and development community, and an inspiration to many,” said Mr Costello.

“As Prime Minister, Mr Fraser worked hard to raise Australia’s global and regional profile.

“After leaving politics, he emerged as a leading voice of conscience on human rights, Indigenous issues, refugees, and peace and disarmament.

“Whatever their politics, Australians from all walks of life respected Mr Fraser for his courage and integrity.

“I give thanks for his extraordinary life and contribution to Australia, and extend deepest sympathies to his family.”
