WORLD VISION AUSTRALIA SCHOOL CAMBODIA EXPERIENCE PROMOTION FOR 40 HOUR FAMINE 2024


How to Enter

 

To enter World Vision Australia’s 40HR Famine 2024 School Cambodia Experience Promotion (Promotion), schools must first register as a school team in World Vision Australia’s 2024 40 Hour Famine and submit a response (either written or video or both) to the following two (2) questions:

1. "Why is it important that your school creates global changemakers?”

2. “How would visiting World Vision’s work in Cambodia support your students to become global changemakers?”

Schools must also meet the additional Eligibility Criteria set out in the terms and conditions below (item 3).

Prize

 

The valid entry by a school received during the Promotion Period that is deemed the best fit the Selection Criteria will win a trip to World Vision’s Cambodia field program scheduled for March 2025 (dates to be confirmed) (School Field Visit) for two (2) school teaching staff and six (6) students, with the following inclusions and conditions:

(a) Inclusions: Return economy international airfares, 3-star shared accommodation for 4 nights, meals, in-country transport, accompanying World Vision Australia staff host.

(b) Exclusions: Travel insurance, visas, vaccinations, Criminal Record Checks, expenses incurred outside of the in-country trip Itinerary, personal expenses.

(c) Conditions: Schools are responsible for (a) selecting suitable staff and selecting students to participate in the School Field Visit (b) the well-being and behaviour of students during the School Field Visit (c) making arrangements for any early departure required from the School Field Visit (d) ensuring the selected students registered and participated in the 2024 40 Hour Famine, are residents of Australia, and aged between 15 and 17 years at the time of the School Field Visit in 2025. The School Field Visit will be subject to World Vision Australia’s standard screening requirements and all participants are required to attend required trip briefings and agree to World Vision Australia’s standard field visit terms. WVA will guide the successful school in the process of staff and student selection. Content will be collected during the School Field Visit, subject to parent/participant consent as appropriate.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

  1. The Promotion is conducted by World Vision Australia ABN 28 004 778 081 of 1 Vision Drive, Burwood East, Victoria, Australia (World Vision Australia).

  2. Entry into the Promotion constitutes acknowledgement and acceptance of these terms and conditions. Information on how to enter, all entry instructions, advertising material and prize information published by World Vision Australia will form part of these terms and conditions.

  3. Eligibility Criteria for Australian schools to enter the Promotion:
    • (a) The school must have registered as a school team as part of World Vision Australia’s 40HR Famine 2024 (Campaign);
    • (b) The school must have raised at least $8000 in total donations as part of the Campaign; and
    • (c) The school must have at least 10 registered students for the Campaign that each actively fundraises.

  4. Entries for the Promotion open at 5:00pm (AEST) on 08th June 2024 and close at 23.59 (AEST) on 22 September 2024 (Promotion Period). All entries must be received by World Vision Australia prior to 23.59 (AEST) on 22 September 2024. Entries will be deemed to be received at the time of receipt by World Vision Australia and not at the time of transmission. Incomplete, indecipherable or incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid.

  5. Entries not completed in accordance with these terms and conditions are void.

  6. Each Entrant is permitted to submit only one entry. The use of automatic entry software, mechanical or electronic devices that allows an Entrant to automatically enter the Promotion is prohibited and may render all entries submitted by that Entrant invalid.

  7. Only one (1) Entrant will be selected to win the Prize (Prize Winner). The Prize Winner will be judged from all valid entries received during the Promotional Period.

  8. Selection for the Prize will take place at 1 Vision Drive, Burwood East at 12pm on Monday 23 September 2024 and will be judged individually by representatives of World Vision Australia (Judges).

  9. Selection Criteria: This is a game of skill and chance plays no part. The Prize Winner will be selected based on the responses submitted that best answers the questions, as determined by the Judges in their absolute discretion.

  10. The Prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash. To the extent permitted by law, World Vision Australia makes no representations as to the suitability of the Prize.

  11. The Prize Winner will be notified by email within five days of the Judges’ decision.

  12. The school name of the Prize Winner will be published on the 40 Hour Famine website from the 15 October 2024.

  13. In the event that for any reason whatsoever the Prize Winner cannot claim their prize(s) at the time stipulated by World Vision Australia, then the prize will be considered to have been forfeited by the Prize Winner. World Vision Australia may select other Entrant/s based on the Judges' subjective decision as is necessary in order to allocate the remaining Prize. World Vision Australia reserves its right not to award the Prize if a suitable Prize Winner cannot, in its opinion, be found.

  14. World Vision Australia reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and Entrants and to disqualify any Entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the Entry process. Errors and omissions will be accepted at World Vision Australia's discretion. Failure by World Vision Australia to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

  15. World Vision Australia reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any Entrant who it has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct that may jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the Promotion. World Vision Australia's legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from any offender(s) are reserved. Failure by World Vision Australia to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

  16. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster (including but not limited to natural disaster) and/or that this Promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of World Vision Australia, World Vision Australia reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law, and subject to any written directions from any regulatory authority, to modify, postpone, suspend, terminate or cancel the Promotion as appropriate.

  17. To the full extent permitted by law, World Vision Australia, its personnel, and its associated organisations will not be liable for any loss (including any damage, claim, injury, cost or expense, including loss of opportunity) which is suffered or incurred by any individual or organisation (including any Entrant) in connection with the Promotion or Prize, including but not limited to;

    • (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under World Vision Australia's control);
    • (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference;
    • (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by World Vision Australia) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of World Vision Australia;
    • (d) any variation in Prize to that stated in these terms and conditions;
    • (e) any tax liability incurred by a Prize Winner or Entrant;
    • (f) any direct, indirect, economic or consequential loss;
    • (g) any loss howsoever arising; and
    • (h) any liability for personal injury or death.

    Nothing in these conditions limit, exclude or modify, or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), as well as any other implied warranties under similar consumer protection laws in the States and Territories of Australia.

  18. All entries (and any intellectual property in them) and entry details become the property of World Vision Australia. Entries will not be returned to any Entrant. By entering this Promotion, the Entrant consents to World Vision Australia's use of personal details (including name, likeness, image and/or voice), the purposes of judging and awarding the Prize and sharing for World Vision Australia's internal purposes.

  19. World Vision Australia's Privacy Policy, available at www.worldvision.com.au, contains further details regarding how Entrants can access or correct information World Vision Australia holds about Entrants, how Entrants can make a privacy related complaint, how that complaint will be dealt with and the extent to which any Entrant’s information may be disclosed to overseas recipients.
