United in scoring goals for World Vision

South Australian building and hardware specialists, Stratco, will donate $2,000 to a World Vision water and sanitation project for every goal scored by Adelaide United Football Club during the 2011/12 A-League season. Last season the Reds scored 51 goals, and we hope they have golden boots again this year!

Stratco is a major sponsor of Adelaide United and have partnered with World Vision since 2007 to support several water and sanitation projects. All funds raised this season will go directly to a water, sanitation and hygiene project in Burundi, Africa. The project aims to improve the wellbeing of children and families in two rural communities through increased access to safe water sources and sanitation facilities and disease prevention strategies.

A powerful 90-second video explains the story behind the partnership, featuring Adelaide United’s star striker Sergio Van Dijk. A shortened version will be played at each of Adelaide United’s 13 home games. It will also be adapted to a 30 second television commercial to be played during the season.

The A-League season runs from 8 October, 2011 – 25 March, 2012 so let’s get behind Adelaide United and Stratco as they score goals for World Vision
