World Vision’s Global Leadership Conventions (GLCs) offer skills that transform words into actions. The aim of the GLCs is to empower Australian students to become the kind of leaders and globally-minded citizens the world needs – now, more than ever.

Calling Year 10-12 students across Australia

The GLCs are for senior secondary students who have:

  • a hunger for knowledge
  • a thirst for change
  • a passion to lead

The GLCs take place in June 2010 for all states except Tasmania, where the GLC is on 28 April. For all the info on dates, times, venues and costs, see our where and when page.

We want you to come along! Secondary schools across Australia are invited to send up to 4 students as their delegation. (If your school wants to send more than 4 students, please discuss this with the World Vision office in your state.) It is advised that a teacher accompany students to the Convention, however, this is not compulsory.

What is compulsory is that students are nominated (and registered) by a teacher.

  • Visit the teachers' page for more info about registration and school resources.
  • Visit the students' page to discover more about what students will get out of GLCs in 2010.
  • Parents can download the Information Sheet that provides detail on what attending the GLC entails.

2009 Testimonials

Everything about [the GLC] was astonishing... The thing that got me most was putting the 'nutrition band' around my thumb, and seeing live children fit it around their arms ... I felt guilty, helpless, selfish and greedy.
