World Vision has a number of programs that address the devastating effects of climate change and alleviate the poverty that results from environmental impacts. There are lots of ways we can all help.

World Vision is Australia’s largest humanitarian aid organisation. We carry out work across the world that seeks to help people help themselves to escape poverty.

Climate change poses a significant threat to much of our work. It has been identified as a contributor to the Global Food Crisis; it is affecting water supplies in many countries; and it is compounding the difficulties for children who are already suffering from hunger and disease.

But you can help alleviate this suffering - financially and non-financially. 

Much of World Vision's work in the field addresses issues of environmental degradation and /or sustainability, so by sponsoring a child; by contributing to our emergency fund for the Global Food Crisis; by pledging your support to programs such as Water Health Life, you will be giving to effective programs that help improve lives while observing good environmental practice.

If you are interested in supporting a program that explicitly addresses climate change and its effects across the world, please give your support to our One Earth program. One Earth works with local communities to promote the use of sustainable land, to develop clean technologies and to prepare for extreme weather events. 

And there are other ways to lend your support.

You can send letters and emails to politicians at local, state and federal levels on important environmental issues; you can sign petitions; you can volunteer for organisations like World Vision to work on campaigns and events to raise awareness.
