World Vision Australia

Say you weren’t born in Australia. You were born in Ethiopia...

You now have a 50% chance of having stunted growth because of hunger. There’s a good chance you live on less than $1.25 a day. And you’re around 20 times more likely to die before you turn five than children in Australia.

But it doesn’t have to be this way!

Do the 40 Hour Famine and raise community awareness and funds to help hungry kids and families around the world. Who will you be helping? Take a look at this video message from The Strike:

World Vision and the 40 Hour Famine

World Vision Australia started the 40 Hour Famine in 1975 to raise money to help children, their families and communities in desperate need. 37 years on the 40 Hour Famine is bigger than ever. Each year around 300,000 Australians take part.

The funds raised every year by the 40 Hour Famine continue to support World Vision’s work tackling the causes of poverty, through both short-term solutions and long-term development projects.

We believe that young people like you hold the key to freeing the world from poverty. By doing the 40 Hour Famine, you are part of a movement of Australians who are willing to take action against hunger!
